Hipp's Health Tip #2: Lemon Juice

Drink Lemon Juice to prime your body for the day

Almost every morning, I drink a large glass of lukewarm water with one organic lemon squeezed in it. I then follow it with one more large glass of water, jumpstarting my water intake for the day by about a liter (2x 16oz glasses). Why Lemon Juice? Lemon juice flushes out toxins, aids in digestion, reduces joint inflammation, clears skin, brightens teeth, freshens breath, boosts immune function and burns fat. Lemons are acidic outside the body but once lemon juice is metabolized in the body and its minerals are dissociated in the bloodstream, it is alkalizing. An alkaline (or pH-balanced) body is a body that is primed to burn fat. Lemons are also high in pectin fiber, which has appetite-suppressing, hunger-reducing properties.
